Izzy Welk's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Howdy! Thank you for your interest in helping Izzy Welk's fight against Malignant Uveal Melanoma. Izzy is a fighting Texas A&M Aggie in her senior year of college majoring in Economics. She is a member of the UCA staff, spreading her passion for cheerleading to young cheerleaders across the country during her summers. She is a former O'Connor cheerleader, where she cheered on the Panthers and graduated in 2020. She is also a partner at the local College Station H-E-B! Izzy has an infectious presence to those around her, spreading light and positivity to all. She is kind, humble, outgoing, giving and loving. She is the best friend, and daughter anyone could ask for. She enjoys hanging out with her friends, family, cooking, cleaning, and line dancing! Izzy has three other siblings, Livi who is in her freshman year at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Zac who is in his junior year of high school at O'Connor, and Angela who just had her beautiful baby girl, Janie May! Her parents, Dawn and Sonny are some of the most selfless people you will ever meet. With both of them being nurses, they never expected their child to be a patient under their care.

Izzy was recently diagnosed with Malignant Uveal Melanoma at the age of 21. Even with this frightening news, Izzy has remained in good spirits and very confident that our lord and savior Jesus Christ has her back through it all. She is juggling being a full-time college student, working, a social life, and traveling to MD Anderson in Houston, TX for her cancer appointments.

In the next couple of weeks, Izzy will be undergoing a series of radiation surgeries to shrink the tumor in her eye in hopes that she will eventually be cancer free. These procedures will hospitalize her for at least 1-2 weeks. She will also have various appointments to monitor her disease after her surgery. Even with these procedures, it is very likely that she will lose all vision in her left eye. We are asking for your help to pay some of her medical expenses. As you may know, being a broke college kid is hard. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated! Please share this link with your family and friends,

God bless, thanks, and Gig’em! #BTHOcancer
