Hi, I am Izzy and I am a life scout in Troop 166, and I’m currently working on my Eagle project. My project will benefit my church, Redeemer Lutheran Church in Columbus, Ohio. For the project, I will be leading volunteers in restaining the playground structure, fluffing/raking the mulch to increase its life, relocating current benches due to safety concerns, and building and installing a sensory wall for the playground area for those on the autism spectrum and others with additional sensory needs.

This is an important project because it will help revitalize the playground area and will increase the appeal and safety of the playground for young children at the church, providing them a place to spend time together. It will also provide an additional resource to community members who need assistance regulating their sensory needs. This will allow these members to have a more accommodating experience at church. My family and I have gone to this church since I was a baby, and it’s really important to me that I give back to the church, especially knowing all the ways it helps out the community, through programs like garden giveaways and basketball camp.

How you can help: I need to raise $600 in order to buy necessary materials for this project. Any amount raised over the project costs will be donated to the Mid Ohio Food Collective to help individuals with food insecurity.
