Izzy & Jess take on the Flawed Hero Marathon

We’re Izzy and Jess

We met through grief and decided to take on the Flawed Hero Marathon 2026 - because running 26.2 miles is nothing compared to what our loved ones endured.

Jess lost her Mum, Patricia, to melanoma in 2022. In 2023, Izzy lost her Dad, Mounir, to pancreatic cancer.

Both were treated at the incredible Royal Marsden, where the doctors, nurses and specialists are nothing short of phenomenal. The care they received gave us something priceless - more time. More conversations. More memories. More treasured moments.

We will never forget the compassion, dedication and humanity shown to our families during the hardest chapter of our lives. ❤️

Are we undertrained? Probably.
Are we slightly nervous about 26.2 miles at midnight? Definitely.
Are we unsure we’ll get through it? Absolutely NOT.

Because our 'why' is bigger than the miles.

We’ll be running (and probably walking… and definitely hobbling) through Letchworth at midnight on 26th April to give back to the incredible people who cared for those we love. Every day they support cancer patients, offering hope, treatment, and a chance at survival & and changing lives when it matters most.

If you’re able to support us, we would be so grateful.
