On Saturday evening Izzie was hit by a truck after getting startled by the thunder. After calling around, Syracuse was the only option due the extent of her apparent injury and their emergency 24 services they provide. They ended up admitting her, her front right paw is crushed as well as a compound fracture to her wrist. The doctor is amazed that this is her only injury however, she is going to need to undergo an extensive surgery to attempt to save the leg. If not, an amputation may be needed. As of right now, her stay for just 48 hours WITHOUT the surgery is estimated to be $3,000-5,000. A $3,700 deposit was already placed to get the ball rolling. As most of you know, this dog means very much to Basford family from the day Alex brought her home. Any donations would help offset the expenses they are accruing for her stay and surgery.
