Dear Friends and Family,
As we enter into the New Year, I am in awe of the ways Jesus has shown His love and grace in my life. Through transitions, joys, challenges and new beginnings, God has been faithful. His hope and love has never been clearer or more precious to me. I want to always be someone who pours hope, compassion, love and grace to everyone I come into contact with, because his love is uncontainable!
In the overflow of all He’s done in me, it’s no surprise that a few weeks ago I felt Jesus leading me to carry His love and hope to a place that needs Him desperately. I was eager to say yes, and in May of 2015, I will be spending a month on a mission trip to Malawi, Africa with Circle of Hope International. We’ll be working at the Grace Center in Dowa, Malawi, pioneering a primarily worship-focused team, spreading the gospel and joy of Jesus in a new way to the people of Malawi. I am honored to be travelling with this team, making Jesus clear to people who desperately need him in their everyday lives.
Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, and as I’ve learned more about it, my heart has been breaking for its beautiful people. At the Grace Center, Circle of Hope ministers to abused, abandoned, orphaned and vulnerable children through education, feeding programs and orphanages. Their vision is to share the Good News of Jesus through works of mercy and justice, and I am humbled to join in God’s work there.
Our team is putting together a worship band to do evangelistic meetings in Malawi. We will be partnering with the Worship and Evangelism team at the Grace Center to go into schools, villages and marketplaces to sing, preach and talk with people about Jesus. I am so eager to not only lead these people in worship but to also encounter Jesus in a brand new way personally. I can’t wait to use the skills God has given me to live out part of my calling on a whole new level.
With a trip of this scale, I need your prayer support. Would you be willing to join me in asking that the month we spend in Malawi will have a God-sized ripple effect in the Malawian people, in eternity, and in our team? Your prayers for our Malawian partners at the Grace Center, for our team as we travel and minister in Malawi in May, and for me personally would be so appreciated. I have never gone on a long-term mission trip and I will be challenged both physically, mentally, and spiritually in a difficult environment than what I am used to. Please pray that I can thrive in my relationship with Jesus and that He meets with me in a way that draws me closer to Him, making me more like Him in the process. And please pray for the orphaned children in Malawi and for the individuals and families we will be sharing the gospel with… I’m asking that many would come to know Jesus!
As you can imagine, a month-long trip like this also requires substantial financial support. I am responsible to raise $4,000 to cover the cost of my trip. If you can support me in a financial way, I would be very grateful. Your donation will be used to cover airfare, in-country expenses such as travel, food and lodging, and a portion of the money goes directly to the project to help the children.
