I am sharing and creating this fundraiser on the behalf of one of the sweetest families I know and a near and dear friend of mine. I would like to introduce everyone to Izaiah, one of the most resilient 15-year-old high school student's I know. He has a passion for MCJROTC and gaming and is one of the most compassionate kiddos I have ever known. Despite his love for life, he faces an incredible challenge—he has been diagnosed with Bilateral Osteochondritis Dissecans, a condition where parts of the bone in both his legs have died due to lack of blood flow. This has left him in constant pain and confined to a wheelchair, unable to stand or bear weight. "Zai" as he is most known, has not been healing due to the fact that his growth plates have closed. If his growth plates were still open, the condition may correct on its own, however, due to his plates being closed, he will most likely be facing a longer recovery and surgery. So at this point the family is preparing for the next steps which would be Mosaicplasty surgery that will take parts of another bone and insert it through dead areas of both legs. This journey is a costly one and is creating a financial burden on his family that I know we can help with.

Through it all, Izaiah remains positive and full of life, even keeping his mom on her toes with his daily pranks! However, the financial burden on his family is overwhelming. With a high insurance deductible, they are paying out of pocket for essential medical tests, equipment, and unexpected accessibility needs. They also hope to travel to seek a second opinion from a specialist who might provide new options for Izaiah’s treatment.
