This is Izabella. She is 13 years old and will be starting the 9th grade in September. On June 15 Izabella was diagnosed with a brain tumor that was found by MRI. Her initial symptoms were intermittent headaches with a few episodes of vomiting without nausea and losing her balance while standing still. She was immediately taken to VCU Children's Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) ER and seen by the head of pediatric neurosurgery. The next day she had a 9 hour surgery to remove the tumor. She is currently in the Pediatric ICU. She is not out of the woods by a long shot, and her journey has just begun. Pathology of the tumor and next steps are pending. Her mother, Eden, is a nurse and a single parent. Her father, siblings, and grandparents have been at her bedside. Izabella and her mother are going to need financial support in the coming months as she will need lots of care.
