Let's get Iza to NYC in Summer 2023!

Hi everyone! My name is Jacquelyn, more commonly known as "Iza's mom".

This year for Iza's and my birthdays we have decided to ask our friends to help us by donating toward a fund to pay for Iza's dance this summer. Iza has been working harder than ever this year, and we are so excited to share with you that she has been invited to do a Musical Theatre program in NYC!!!! While she mainly focuses on dance, if you've been around Iza much at all you know that Musical Theatre is her other passion. Unfortunately, there really aren't many opportunities for her to participate in Musical Theatre in Miami, so this invitation is a HUGE deal for her! She was so nervous at the auditions, but she worked through the nerves and got in!

If I can swing it financially, my plan is to fly out right after the Nationals dance competition and get her to NYC overnight so that she can start the next day. This will be an all-day program and end with a showcase of various pieces the students put together. This is also the first year she's old enough to participate, so it's a huge honor to have been invited when she will only be ten!

As many of you know, I went to school in NYC and had many opportunities to travel when I was younger. Things in my career didn't go as planned, so I've struggled to try to give Iza opportunities to travel and see the world. She has only been out of the state three times and twice was when she was a baby (once to see my dad when he was sick and the other for his funeral). Iza doesn't have any memories of that. Last summer I got to drive her to a Nationals dance competition in SC and she was so amazed to see how different things are in another place, but her dance schedule made it such that we didn't get to see much.

For Summer 2023, I'm hoping to change all that! I was to take her to the city where I became an adult and show her the hundreds of things that only NYC has to offer. If my friends and family far and wide could chip in just a few dollars, you can help me make this dream come true for her! I promise to post soooo many pictures!
