Hendricks MN Campground Improvement

THE FUNDRAISING GOAL:

The Hendricks campground improvement committee is hoping to raise $75,000.  The City of Hendricks will donate $2.00 for every $1.00 donated by an individual, club, or businesses up to a total donation amount of $25,000.  If you donate $50.00, the city will donate $100.00.  The campground committee will recognize the donor as contributing $150.00 to the campground improvement project.  Your donation is tax deductible only for the amount of your actually donation.   Donations are needed of any amount.  Part of the grant application acceptance is based on community interest in the project, hence all donations matter as it represents strong community participation.  Donations can also be mailed or hand delivered to the Hendricks City Hall.

 EXPECTED CAMPGROUND IMPROVEMENTS:

 The campground improvements will include new restroom/storm facilities, overflow parking, and four attractive spacious cabins that can be rented individually or as a group for family reunions, hunting trips, and camping events such as youth camps, boy scouts, and church related bible camps, etc.   Cabins will be grouped together in a private section of the campgrounds that will have a handicap accessible walking path directly to the restrooms but will not have a through road to the existing campsites. 

PROJECT COST AND GRANT:

The expected overall cost of the campground improvement project is $150,000.00.  The City of Hendricks is working with DSI to obtain a matching grant that will pay up to 50% of the project cost, lowering the cities portion to $75,000.00.  The grant is highly competitive, but Canby was able to obtain significant funds just last year through the same grant.  The grant application is due at the end of March and the city should be informed on our success or failure by September.

CABIN NEED REQUEST

We are also seeking individuals or groups interested in writing a short letter or email with information on cabin requirements for your outings.  If you do send information, please tell us your name, phone number, email, how many people you expect to have in your outings, type of outing such as youth camp, reunion, etc.
