I am going to ask a huge favor. That all of you that believe in God and prayers lift my daughter Amy up in prayer. The last 5-7 years have been very hard for her and her family. All she has ever wanted was to make a difference in people's lives. Even as early as high school, she spend summers at CAMP CAMP helping disabled kids, to working as a CNA, then EMT, then LVN, and now on to her RN. She has always wanted to contribute to society. Every time she gets to celebrate she gets knocked back down.

She already has close to $75,000 in medical bills as is from intubations because her asthma was not under control, and the gall bladder surgery that went wrong. For some of you that dont know, in 2010 Amy underwent a gallbladder surgery and the Doctor clamped the wrong bile duct that sent her into a spiraling illness that landed her in the ICU for 3 weeks when she had a 6 month old at home. The doctor didn't realize that he clamped the wrong bile duct and sent Amy home for 3 days where she progressively became very ill. By the time we got Amy to the hospital she had severe peritonitis, a fever, was vomiting, and in massive amounts of pain. She was transferred from 3 different hospitals until finally getting to a Liver team that was able to diagnose what was wrong. By this point the doctors told us if Amy had gone one more day she wouldn't have made it. The injury had caused the bile Amys liver made to seep into her abdomen over 6 days. It caused a major infection. They had to make an incision across Amys entire abdomen to drain the fluid and repair her bile ducts. She since then has had several complications from the surgery from multiple hospitalizations to pancreatitis, and bowel injuries. The liver team told Amy she will have to forever be a patient with them because they never know when something will go wrong, and there is a possibility of needing a liver transplant one day. This injury is still not over for Amy, just recently at the beginning of this year she was in ICU again because the repair had become inflamed and she needed antibiotics for a week and they were having issues keeping her blood pressure up. This is something Amy faces everyday of her life.

After all that her passion for helping people didnt go away. She started nursing school 2 weeks after being in the ICU to obtain her LVN where she succeeded.

She has also had two sons in the NICU after delivery as well. Her Third born son was just recently. He was born prematurely, just 23 days before Amys RN school was over. He was born having respiratory issues. He needed to have a tube put down his airway to help administer medicine he needed to breathe. He was then on machines that force air into his lungs for a few days following and spent 2 weeks in the NICU before Amy got to bring him home. Again, all while trying to pursue her education in nursing.

Through all of this Amy and her family have still pushed through. However, recently she has also learned that the amount of medical bills that she has accrued through all of the hospitilizations, intubations, and medical bills they are unable to get a home loan. So yet again, they are trying to better their lives for their family and they can't because of these bills. A home for her family is something Amy has dreamed about for the last 5 years but has been unable to do because of the financial status they have faced.

Amy is now back in the hospital and unable to be at home to help with their 6 month old who has GI and Respiratory issues. Amy and Jason have been through a lot the last couple of months and are now scared that due to Amy being out of work and Jason needed to take off to stretch himself between Amy and the kids, they will be hurting financially. Jason is a paramedic and works hard for his community as well. We know this is a lot to ask, to help out this family in a time of need, but we hope you can. Thank you and God Bless.
