Iyla-Mae Our Superstar

Donation protected
Hi, we are trying to raise funds to help our little superstar Iyla-Mae.
A perfect, funny, beautiful princess who's life was changed forever on July 14th 2024 aged 2 years.
After being poorly for a few days with what we thought was a sickness bug picked up from nursery, her mummy woke to Iyla-Mae that Sunday morning not being able to move having lost the ability to do anything but cry.
After her initial assessment at Bournemouth hospital she was blue lighted to Southampton general where they confirmed that Iyla-Mae has suffered an extensive venous sinus thrombosis.

Our time at southampton hospital came with many low points, with us being scared that our beautiful princess would not pull through this. Being incubated and operated on, and suffering the most unimaginable pain and not being able to do anything but watch and hope.
When Iyla-Mae had come out of her induced coma it was heartbreaking to see just everything that had been taken from her.
Her voice, her ability to recognise us, not being able to move, to even hold her hands out, her spirit for life, everything had changed. All our lives had changed.

16 weeks we spent at Southampton hospital, unsure of what the future would bring. Daily physio, OT appointments, speech and language and learning how to adjust to our new 'normal' all the while willing our precious angel to get better.

Her fight, her determination has been our strength.

She was fighting for everything, and shows us everyday how strong she is. How much she wants to be able to do things for herself.

Iyla-Mae has an incredibly hard road ahead of her. She has to re learn everything which came so naturally to her before.
Walking, talking, holding her own head, feeding, drinking, all of what she was so capable of doing with ease.

She was our little 'Mayhem' a whirlwind of fun and smiles that would light up a room, and now we watch her with pride everyday whilst she tries her hardest to do even the smallest of things.

We too have to learn how to navigate our way through the painful senseless act of cruelty. We are grieving for the life that has been taken from her, even though she is still with us, the pain is indescribable.

Iyla-Mae was released from hospital November 7th.

Physio is critical to her recovery, especially in these crucial first months. Whilst the NHS have been amazing, and we couldn't have come this far without them, Iyla-Mae needs intensive physio which will need to be privately funded.
Home adaptions, walking aids and frames and anything else which Iyla-Mae could possibly need to try and make life that little bit better for her.

We are hoping the kindness of family, friends and even strangers will take Iyla-Mae into their hearts and help us to help her. We want to give our beautiful princess the best life and help her to be the best she can be. She has such fight in her, she did not deserve this to happen to her and still we have no reason as to why it happened, all we can do is continue with our love and support for her and watch her shine like the superstar she is.
