Welcome to Konrad & BrainStation's global fundraising campaign in support of International Women's Day 2022 (#IWD2022).
This year’s target is $25,000 which will be shared between six organizations in our communities. Our focus again is on organizations who support women and girls in STEM or that provide Leadership/Mentorship or Educational programs. Below is a summary of the organizations and the types of programs they offer:
New York: Girls Inc. - "Inspiring ALL girls to be strong, smart and bold" - Girls Inc focuses on the development of the whole girl by supporting, mentoring, and guiding girls in an affirming, pro-girl environment. Funds raised will go to one of their 'Girls in STEM' programs.
San José - MenTe en Acción - a Collaborative Community that through different programs seeks to empower women in Science and Technology, Leadership, English language and other important skills that can prepare them for the new era of employment. Funds raised will go towards their training programs in Computer Programming, English and learning soft skills to prepare for employment.
Toronto & Peterborough: hEr VOLUTION - "Inspiring Girls to Embrace STEM Careers" - the go to place for youth, particularly girls from underserved communities to come in order to advance in 21st Century Skills. Funds raised will go to the STEMing UP program, which is a 4-week course preparing 14-17 year-old girls for a career in tech.
Vancouver: Dress for Success Vancouver - "Empowering women into the workforce by providing them with professional attire, career services, and skills development programs". Funds raised will provide critical financial support to the existing services which include Lifelong Learning, Sponsorship, Career Development and more.
London: Stemettes - is an award-winning social enterprise working across the UK and beyond, whose mission is “inspire the next generation of females and and nonbinary people into STEM fields by showing them the diversity of people already in STEM via a series of cohort programmes, impactful events and inspirational content platforms”.
Miami: Code/Art - Inspiring Girls to Code. Code/Art is dedicated to increasing the number of girls studying computer science by delighting and inspiring them with the creative possibilities of computer programming. They strive to put women, particularly young women from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, on track for future tech careers.
