Dear Friends,
We help run the Ono Niha Foundation, a very small group providing relief to the poor individuals in the communities in south Nias (Sumatra Indonesia). Iwan is a valuable member of the Foundation and runs the program assisting children with disabilities, and the dental hygeine program.
This morning (Saturday 7th) we received a call from Indonesia telling us of the tragic news that Iwan had been involved in a serious motorbike accident. He has at least one broken leg (maybe two) and two broken arms or hands. He has been bleeding from the ear and likely has a broken jaw.
Iwan needs immediate medical care, and will continue to need care to rehabilitate him over the next 6 months, and to support his family during this time.
Iwan has a beautiful family, his wife Mimi is a strong woman of God and together they have one child and she is 3 months pregnant with their next.
Iwan devotes his life to supporting the Foundation in Nias and has played an instrumental part in facilitating the work God has called us to do there.
Iwan inspires us and the children and families that he is a lifeline to. He supports and provides quality of life for those within the disabilites program. Not only this but Iwan has become a very capable dental hygienist, enabling us to provide ongoing dental care to the people of the Nias community.
Our plea is that your compassion reaches out to this family in their time of need and helps us give Iwan the urgent medical and rehabilitation care he so desperately needs. We are believing he will fully recover and his healing hands will once more bring compassion and relief to those in need in his community in south Nias and beyond.
