Hi, my name is Nikki and I am trying to raise funds for my wonderful Aunt Sandra for her dog Ivy. Unfortunately, her sweet dog Ivy has been in the ICU in the animal hospital fighting for her life for the past 3 weeks.

Ivy has been unfortunately misdiagnosed by a trusting vet for several months. Instead of doing the proper testing that was needed, which would have saved her life, as my aunt fought for her dog and trusted this vet, she was overprescribed antibiotics which stripped Ivy of all her intestinal flora, damaged her intestines, and her kidneys (which are constantly being monitored in the hospital), all while letting my aunt know that the testing being requested was not needed and denied all suggestions.

This has turned my aunt's world upside down.

My aunt went out and sought a second opinion as Ivy was not improving, and they admitted Ivy immediately into the animal hospital where she saw several animal specialists who finally properly diagnosed her and let my aunt know the cause of this was the carelessness of the prior vet.

Ivy was diagnosed with C-Difficile and Proteus Mirabilis, which are attacking her GI system, and due to the nature of the toxins that are being killed off, it unfortunately is taking a toll on her kidneys. She has been fighting daily.

Ivy is one of the sweetest, most intelligent, and most loving dogs you could ever meet. We say she is like a service dog without ever having to be trained, and there is not a single person that meets her and does not fall instantly in love with her. Ivy normally spends her days helping my aunt by running errands or visiting our other disabled aunt in her facility and cheering up all the residents there; she is the informal therapy dog for them.

Ivy is my aunt's world, and so I am asking for some help as Ivy's medical bills have been astronomically astounding, and insurance has only covered a small portion and right now my aunt currently owes $29,000 for Ivy's care.
