Hi, I'm Alanna and this is my girl Ivy a 10 year old princess. In late 2016 I reached out to a charity in Romania looking to adopt a dog. They told me about a girl who had been overlooked quite a bit, she was small and sweet. I said yes without even knowing what she looked like!

Queue the long and tedious journey of adopting from Romania. Since she arrived here in January 2017 she has been the light of my life. Ivy hasn't had the easiest life, from living in a shelter for over 8 months to being diagnosed with glaucoma three years ago.

Ivy has battled glaucoma like a champ, she takes her eye drops daily without fuss but unfortunately last year she lost her left eye. We knew eventually she'd lose her eye sight completely and after a routine vet visit to check the pressure in her remaining eye, we learned the pressure was spiking and above what we wanted it to be. On Wednesday this week ivy was booked into have her remaining eye removed, we had prepared for a now blind ivy but little did we know her heart had other plans.

The vet called us and explained that her heart rate had dropped between 20-30 beats a minute after going under anesthesia. The vet referred us to a cardiologist and after some stressful hours waiting, we learned Ivy has a 3rd degree AV block. This means her heart isn't powering her up like it should.

The specialist explained we would need a pacemaker to help prolong her life, on top of this she still needs to have her eye removed for surgery.

The pacemaker surgery alone is £5000 at the specialist we saw, which unfortunately appears in line with most veterinary cardiologists in the UK.

Ivy is our sweetheart, she has the kindest soul and loves everything and everyone she meets. She's calm and loving and so beautiful inside and out, we so badly want her to live out her golden years with endless love.

The funds raised will be used to pay for her pacemaker to be implemented and anything remaining would go towards her eye removal surgery as well.
