Ivy’s Knee Surgery

Donation protected

Hi, I’m Jesa, Ivy's mommy. Ivy, is my 1.5 year old American Bully pup but far from a "bully". She lives up to the hype, being the biggest certified lover girl who will take any and every hug she can get and land as many kisses as possible. Ivy is such a playful pup who loves going for her long walks, leading the charge on hikes, and playing with no breaks.

Lately, I noticed she would limp every so often after long play dates and walks. The limp would go away but I noticed a pattern of it always coming back. Finally, I was able to get her a check up to see what was going on. The vet had to sedate Ivy for some x-rays to assess her leg. The vet, surgeon, and radiologist diagnosed Ivy with a torn ligament, requiring her to have a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery for her rear right leg. I was told she can live with the injury but will get arthritis if not treated quickly. Causing much more pain and possible non weight baring leg. As of right now, the vet has suggested to keep Ivy to minimal exercise and to get the surgery done as soon as possible. The recovery process will consist of 2 week bed rest, and remaining 3 months of rehab. Ivy is so young and strong I’m afraid without this surgery that will change quickly and prevent her from having a fulfilling life as rambunctious and energetic as she is.

This injury has come by surprise! I am hoping to raise money for Ivy to receive the surgery as soon as possible hopefully for mid to end of September. The funds will be used towards the surgical procedure, the anesthesia, x-rays, bloodwork, the overnight hospital stay, follow-up appointments, antibiotics + pain medications that will be needed post-surgery.

We want to thank everyone who has helped us navigate thru this situation. It has been a rollercoaster thus far, and much more to come. If you know Ivy, you know she is restless wondering when she can go play 100% again. She is one of the most loving and dorkiest lover pups I know. She is always there to love me with no boundaries. I just aim to do anything and everything to be the best dog mom possible for her in return. Any help is appreciated whether it’s a prayer for a smooth and successful surgery and recovery, words of encouragement, tips for recovery, a small donation, or sharing the link! It does not go unnoticed and anything helps.

Ivy can’t wait to be free to sprint off after a ball, go on long walks/sniffaries, and to play freely with friends.
