Ivy's Cancer Treatment & Recovery

My name is Jennifer and I'm seeking your support,

Our beautiful 2-year-old granddaughter, Ivy, is currently fighting Stage IV cancer.

At an age when life should be full of possibility, Ivy has already endured more than most of us could ever imagine. Since her diagnosis, she has faced an intense and ongoing treatment journey with remarkable courage.

Ivy has undergone radiation therapy to try to shrink the tumour. She has had pre-surgery chemotherapy, again in the hope of reducing its size. She has then faced major surgery to remove the tumour and, heartbreakingly, one of her kidneys.

She is now 18 weeks into what will be a 30-week post-surgery treatment plan.

The past month alone has been incredibly tough. Ivy has been in hospital, highly vulnerable to infection, fighting multiple bacterial infections and associated complications that come with such aggressive treatment. Despite everything, she continues to show extraordinary resilience.

As part of her surgery, Ivy also had an ovary removed and preserved for the future—an emotional and important step to give her choices later in life. This is one of the many significant and unavoidable costs associated with her treatment.

In addition to her current diagnosis, Ivy has also been identified as carrying the BRCA1 gene, which significantly increases her lifetime risk of further cancers, including breast and pancreatic cancer. While the future is unknown, we do know that this brings heightened risks and the likelihood of ongoing medical care and associated costs over time.

While we can plan for some expenses, many others are unknown and continue to arise. Funds raised will go directly towards out-of-pocket medical expenses, hospital stays, specialist care, medications, travel to and from treatment, and the costs associated with preserving Ivy’s future fertility. As treatment progresses, additional unexpected costs continue to emerge.

We are now entering the final 12 weeks of Ivy’s treatment, and building support at this stage is critical to help carry her and her family through to the end of this journey and into recovery.

We are seeking support from both individuals and corporate organisations. For businesses, this is an opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact—supporting a young life in the midst of an extraordinary fight. Corporate contributions, whether large or small, will go directly towards easing the financial burden and allowing Ivy’s family to focus fully on her care and recovery.

For individuals, if you are unable to donate financially, there is another powerful way to help—please consider donating blood. Ivy has already required dozens of blood transfusions and platelet transfusions as part of her treatment, and ongoing donations are critical not only for her, but for so many others undergoing similar care.

Sharing Ivy’s story across your networks can make an enormous difference in reaching those who are able to help.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for standing with Ivy during this incredibly challenging time.
