Let me start by saying, just spreading the word about this fund is the best way to donate. With that being said, allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Ivy or Ivanna. I am a 23-year-old Hispanic American with a lot of issues ever since I was born. Premature, severed vocal cords, infant on and off the NICU, had a trachea on my neck and became mute for 4 1/2 years. During that duration, at the age of 5, I had a tracheotomy that brought my voice back. I thought I had everything figured out: starting college, graduating high school during the pandemic, starting my job search for many years, saving money. You know, the whole spiel. Until I was 20, when I suffered an embolic hemorrhagic stroke, paralyzing half of my body, going to the ER, then staying in the hospital for 2 weeks; one week for the actual hospital stay, the second week for the physical therapy I had to quickly recover.

In March of the same year, this is in 2023, I was 21 and suffered a small transient ischemic attack, or a mini-stroke, on the other side of my brain. I was with the same hospital for a couple of days before slowly recovering at home. No answers, nothing to follow through on. In May of 2024, I was almost going into open-heart surgery, which would have changed everything in my life forever. But that didn't happen, luckily enough.

Now, I am slowly recovering. At the same time, I am in my final year at university. Usually, I have some sort of aid granted for that. This time, I do not. All of my usual grants are unavailable, and there is a chance that I might need to take some loans out to figure out my situation. However, this has happened so suddenly that I am very anxious about my future as an academic student.
