My name is Sara Miller, and on Thursday September 4th, my step daughter Ivy was viciously attacked by a dog. She has suffered major lacerations to both of her arms and hands. She had emergency surgery, that evening to close her wounds. There were so many lacerations, the surgeon could not even give us a number as to how many stitches she received. He simply said there were multiple feet of lacerations. Per her surgeon there was no nerve damage, but she did sustain tears in the muscles which will heal over time. There is some worry of skin separation which could cause further issues in the future, a bridge we will cross when we get to it. Ivy has a very long road of recovery ahead of her.
With having no use of her upper extremities at this time, she is unable to drive, unable to work, and do everyday normal tasks that we all take for granted.....with that said we would like to raise money to help Ivy not have to worry about her finances, and the mounting medical bills from her surgery, as well as her ongoing medical care, to get her back in tip top shape.
If you have ever had the pleasure to meet her, you know she is one of the sweetest, kindest souls. An absolute heart of gold.
On behalf of Ivy, her Mom, Michele and her Dad, Chuck and myself- we thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support.
