Ivy & Israel's TTTS surgery

Ivy and Israel were surprised and excited and scared when they found out that Ivy was pregnant even with an IUD.  Then to top off the surprise, they found out they were having identical twins, Monochorionic Twins (they share the same placenta).  These types of twins are very rare, 0.0001% or 1 out of 10,000 pregnancies are monochorionic twins.  These babies have been healthy up until 4 months.  At their last appointment, they were told that the twins have Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS).  TTTS is a rare and serious condition that can occur in monochorionic twins.  TTTS causes the "donor" twin to have decreased blood volume and lack of nutrition and the "recipient" twin to have too much.  The only way to get the babies back on track is to have emergency laser surgery.  Because monochorionic twins are so rare and TTTS is rare (15% of all monochorionic twins will develop some stage of TTTS), there is a lack of doctors and hospitals in the world that perform the surgery they need.  Less than 40 doctors in 17 states to be exact.  Unfortunately, the closest place that they can have this surgery is in Houston.  Although we were lucky enough to find out that the hospital is in network and that the main Dr. performing the surgery is partnered with Ivy's Dr. in Arizona, there are many other costs involved with this out of state surgery that are unexpected; ie:  pricey last minute flight tickets, other Drs. that will assist with her stay and of course their insurance deductible.  Once the surgery is complete, most moms will spend the rest of their pregnancy on bed rest and deliver at 32 weeks.  With Ivy being a Stay at Home Mom to their beautiful 2 daughters, Israel is the sole bread maker of the family and this set back is not something that they can financially handle.  As a family, we are asking for any monetary help (and prayers) that anyone can give.  On the behalf of Ivy and Israel and their families, we thank everyone for their time, consideration and generosity.
