WALKING THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO — A LIFELONG DREAM

"Not all those who wander are lost."

On June 1st, 2026, I am embarking on one of the most meaningful journeys of my life — walking the Camino de Santiago: 500 miles (800 km) across France and Spain, ending at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

✨ WHAT IS THE CAMINO?

The Camino de Santiago ("The Way of St. James") is one of the world's most ancient Christian pilgrimages, walked by millions over centuries. People walk it for many reasons — faith, healing, reflection, adventure, and transformation. It is a journey of the body, the mind, and the soul.

WHY I AM WALKING IT

This has been a lifelong dream of mine. I have worked hard since the age of 13 to help support my family, and I have given so much of myself over the decades — to my work, to others, and to causes bigger than myself.

I lost my dear friend, who had planned to walk this Camino with me. Her passing reminded me that life is precious and not to be postponed. This walk is also for her.

Crossing the border from France into Spain carries a deep personal meaning — it mirrors my own journey from Puerto Rico to the U.S. mainland, and the sacrifices of those who came before me. It represents stepping into a new chapter after years of hard work and immense growth — including my journey through and beyond cancer.

This pilgrimage is my opportunity to reflect, to release, to heal, and to walk forward in my own power — free from the weight of negativity and judgment, and full of gratitude for everything that has brought me here.
