Ivo American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Program 2023

Hello! I’m Ivo Resta and my dream is to be a ballet dancer. I used to be teased for this and would say that I really wanted to be a football player, but now I stick with the truth and I want boys to know that they can do ballet, too. Look at Baryshnikov, Nureyev, Nijinksy, and so many more!
I’m thrilled to be accepted to American Ballet Theatre’s Young Dancer Summer Workshop, which gives 25 ballet dancers from around the country the opportunity to study intensely this summer at American Ballet Theatre’s headquarters in New York City. I am raising money for program tuition, travel to and from NYC from Los Angeles, lodging, local transportation, food to give me energy for all the dancing, and ice packs for my aching legs! My mom found a boarding house where some meals are included so that brought the total cost down a lot. Any funds above what I need will go towards tuition at my home dance school, California Dance Academy.
American Ballet Theatre (ABT) was founded in 1939 and in 2006 an act of Congress designated it America’s National Ballet Company®. Baryshnikov was the Artistic Director from 1980-1990. Now the Artistic Director is Susan Jaffe. You can read more about ABT here.
