On June  29th, my mom received a phone call we all were not expecting to receive. My dad had just shared the news with her that our property in Clearlake was completely destroyed from the Pawnee fire. He went up by himself earlier that morning to check on the property – only to discover that the house he spent 10+ years building (which he had just finally finished) was in complete ashes.  

If anyone knows my father, you’ll know that he puts his heart and soul into everything he creates. He spent almost every other weekend up there. The animals knew him. They were his neighbors and closest friends. If you don’t believe me. Ask him.


My parents had plans to retire here. A place with no distractions and away from the city. It was a dream of theirs to have a home to escape to.

While many may think of this as a tragedy, I consider ourselves to be lucky. The fire spread towards our home around midnight on Saturday June 23rd. Just the weekend prior, my dad had been up at the property checking on the home, watering his plants, and feeding the animals. He missed the fire by just a week and we are so blessed that he wasn’t there when it broke out.  

Devastating times gives you very necessary reminders...    

We are strong and will recover from this but am asking for any help to allow my parents to rebuild again. They are some of the most hard working, loving, and generous people.

This money will help them cover the necessary expenses to start rebuilding again, i.e. tools, chainsaws, generators, wood, etc. Anything truly helps.
