IVF treatment for Krista and Danny

Hi Everyone,

We have decided to start a GoFundMe to help Krista and Danny with the costs of IVF treatment. In 2018, she was diagnosed with Hydrosalpinx (blocked fallopian tubes). It was discovered that both were blocked, which unfortunately meant that they had to be removed. It was awful news for her and her husband Danny. Having never been pregnant and then being told they could only conceive through IVF, it was a very emotional time.

They then decided that they would try for IVF through the NHS. This brought more awful news as they were told that they were not eligible because Danny has a child from a previous relationship.

The NHS Leeds CCG requirement is that neither partner should have any living children from that or any previous relationship, so due to the CCG postcode lottery criteria, they were refused.

They then decided to apply for NHS funding because they were told their circumstances were exceptional, but were rejected twice without the possibility of appealing.

Krista is an amazing step mum and auntie, but longs to be a mum herself. We have seen her go through extremely difficult periods during and after that time in her life. The decision to deny NHS funded IVF has changed her as a person, and has affected her mental health.

Krista has recently decided that she wants to do the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge for Fertility Network UK, because of the support she has received from them during this process. Now we want to support her by raising money for that IVF treatment she isn’t eligible for.

As you all know IVF is a very expensive treatment, so we would be grateful for any contribution towards helping Krista
