They say it takes a village to raise a child and I am so grateful to be a part of that village for so many. I have always dreamed of being a mother one day and I can't imagine my future without it . Through my infertility journey I have felt embarrassed of sharing and today I am choosing to be vulnerable and try to take away as much shame as I can, so that others may feel comfortable sharing too.

After being diagnosed with PCOS in my 20s, I had a feeling this may be a difficult road for us but I didn't know how tough it may actually be. After 3 IUI's failed, we decided to pursue IVF in Decmber 2023. We had a successful round and ended up with a decent amount of normal embryos. We did our first transfer in May 2024, I was feeling super hopeful. Unfortunately that transfer failed.

After speaking with my doctor we decided to do some more testing and do a mock cycle. This resulted in my diagnosis of endometriosis. With that a new plan was created to try to suppress it with a medication for 2 months. That was a nightmare to do during the summer because it was essentially putting me in a menopause state. We then attempted a 2nd transfer in September, failed. Another in November, 3rd time was not a charm.

After being devastated of feeling like my body was failing me, we decided to take a break through the holidays due to the toll it was all taking on my body and mental health.

We met again with the doctor in January to see what our next steps are because we are not ready to give up.

So here we are, another round of IVF needed. We are hopeful with what we know now that this new plan will create better results.

The total cost of IVF, medications, and 1 transfer will be around $15,000 since I am at my policy lifetime maximum on what insurance will cover.

After already spending so much out of pocket for the last year, we’re coming to the end of our financial means. Those who know me well know that i’m not great at asking for help. With much encouragement from family and friends on what they can do to support us, we are reaching out to our community for support!

We have decided to attempt a puzzle fundraiser to help with the cost. It is a 1000 piece puzzle and each piece a donation of $10. Each piece will represent someone who donated to help make Baby Hager a reality. We will write your name on the back of each piece and plan to frame it once complete to hang in the future nursery.
