Hello friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

We’re sharing our story today with hopeful hearts and a humble request.

My name is James Cho, and I’m a high school teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia. My partner, Angela, previously worked as a government contractor specializing in Sustainability and Efficiency initiatives. Like so many hopeful parents, we began our fertility journey filled with optimism, but it has become a path marked by emotional challenges and significant financial strain.

Our Journey So Far:

Going on two years of trying to grow our family, we officially began fertility treatment in December 2024.

In January 2025, Angela’s contract was dissolved following widespread federal cuts through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Angela has since found a new contract, but the fertility benefits we currently have through WIN have turned out to be far more limited than anticipated, leaving us responsible for the majority of the costs ourselves.

Every medication, appointment, and procedure has been paid for mostly out of pocket. We’ve completed multiple IUI cycles, which have been both physically demanding and financially draining.

Together, the cost of IUI and IVF, including medications, ultrasounds, bloodwork, and embryo-related procedures, has placed a significant burden on our finances and has nearly depleted our savings.
