IVF Process Journey

Hi my name is Nequita and my husband is Brandon. My husband and i have been on a journey to get pregnant for 3 years and have not been able too. When we found out that i had a ruptured Fallopian tube and could not get pregnant the natural way, it really shook my world. For the past two years, we've been exploring various fertility options with a number of traditional & naturopathic doctors. We went through five failed intrauterine insemination ( IUI's), tried acupuncture, headstands, fertility- boosting products & foods- you name it, we've tried it. And yet, our desire to start a family of our own continues, despite these failed attempts.
Which leads us here.
At the end of June 2019 we met with an In-vitro fertilization ( IVF) doctor to discuss our options. For those who aren't familiar, IVF is the process of retrieving a woman eggs to have them fertilized and grown in an embryology lab. Once a fertilized embryo passes a certain stage of initial growth in the lab, it is then placed in a woman's uterus to, God willing mature into a baby.
IVF is what is next in our journey to start a family.
Our biggest challenge is that the IVF process is expensive, must be paid in full upfront, and is rarely covered by insurance in which ours does not cover any IVF services. Below is a breakdown of the cost:
-$2,000 for pre-treatment testing, blood work & baseline scans
-$5,000- 8,000 is for medications to prepare for egg retrieval
-$600 is for anesthesia
-$20,200 is for IVF cycle, which including the egg retrieval procedure, fertilization & monitoring, testing, growth in the embryology lab & embryo transfer.
The cost of this procedure is overwhelming & intimidating, but we could not be more excited for this next adventure & eager to start right away.
