#OhThoseHackmans are oh-so-ready to meet their baby, and IVF is their chance.
Daniel and Joanna have been trying to grow their family for three years, but infertility is an unfair disease. Their battle with infertility has included expensive prescriptions, countless tests, disappointing doctor visits, 5 failed IUIs, and no baby. They’ve reached the end of any insurance coverage and are currently facing the reality that In Vitro Fertilization is their only shot.
(Well, there will be lots of shots, but we’ll get to that in a minute...)
After taking time to rest and pray over their next steps, Dan and Jo believe IVF is where they’re being led. This is a big and scary and exciting chance for them. They are ready to take on IVF, but they cannot do it alone.
Infertility coverage is so limited across the US, and the Hackmans will be paying for IVF completely out of pocket.
Here is a breakdown of what costs will look like:
$13,800 for egg retrieval, the actual IVF procedure, and cryopreservation of any viable embryos.
$4,475 for the embryo transfer.
$4,000-$5,000 for all medications and (fingers crossed) early pregnancy monitoring.
You can’t take Jo’s shots (SO many shots to grow as many eggs as possible to have as many chances as possible) for her. You may not be able to calm Dan’s nerves while they wait to find out how many embryos made it to day 5 (this is important). But maybe you can support them financially.
You can also support them by sharing this page, lifting them up in prayer, and/or sending them a quick message to let them know you are thinking of them. However you can support them, thank you for being part of their community, for believing with them, and for loving them so well.
