Hello everyone,
Thanks so much for taking the time to hear our story...
Right before we started dating, I remember one of the first things we talked about was kids. It was something I had dreamed about for as long as I can remember.
After Esteban and I got married, for us, the next step was of course to start trying to have a family. To be able to provide our children with a safe and loving environment, was something so important to us, as we both lacked that growing up.
One week randomly I was having abdominal pain, and after much convincing, I decided to go to the clinic to check it out. To our surprise the doctor told me I was pregnant. We couldn’t believe it. Our excitement however was short lived as we were sent to the hospital and later confirmed it was an ectopic pregnancy. That night I received injections to terminate the pregnancy. We were heartbroken.
Two years later after continuing to try and conceive with no luck, we decided to check in. We were told it is quite common for the process to take some time and to keep trying for the next year and if no luck, to come back the following year. So we kept trying and remained hopeful.
The following year, after again no luck, we were referred to a fertility clinic where we began testing. On November 18th, we got the devastating news that my tubes were severely inflamed and blocked. I was later scheduled to have surgery the following month to remove them. That left me feeling changed as a woman and quite depressed for a little while. But as painful as that was, we remained hopeful and blessed, as IVF was an option for us and that we have a 70% chance of success.
It’s now been 6 years of hospital visits, tests, tears and prayers and through this journey we’ve realized the reality of what other couples or women have faced, and how difficult it is to find tools and programs. After some discussion and encouragement, we are asking for your help to make this dream a reality for us, and to help with some of the overwhelming costs of IVF. It wasn’t an easy decision, as asking for help financially never is. We would be so grateful for any contributions, as well as prayers. We have already been so blessed this far with the support and encouragement from our friends and community.
