IVF for a Mini Montoya
Donation protected
Kate and Marc Montoya have been married for 5 years and have tried everything they could to start their family together, but to no avail. After four years of experimenting with everything from vitamins and couples’ vacations to faithful prayers and ovulation tests, they have faced the hard truth that they need expert help to get pregnant.
Kate and Marc’s pregnancy journey has been a difficult one. Within a four month period, Kate faced a battery of tests and challenges. She committed to rigorous weight management training which resulted in the stunning loss of 75 pounds. When concerns were raised during an exam, Kate endured both a D&C to remove massive polyps and scar tissue and a dye test to ensure that her Fallopian tubes were open. Overcoming all this, she received the green light to begin three monthly rounds of powerful fertility medications.
Once Marc completed his own battery of tests, the couple began their IUIs with high hopes. After three unsuccessful attempts, Kate gathered her courage and underwent a voluntary laparoscopy surgery in the pursuit of their dream of children. The doctors checked for endometriosis and removed any residing polyps they could find. Still, when all was said and done, the resulting diagnosis was heartbreaking.
As Kate and Marc listened to the doctors explain that both of Kate’s Fallopian tubes are now fully closed off and her left ovary is showing signs of endometriosis, the depth of their sadness left them devastated. The doctor explained the powerful prescribed fertility medications not only failed to help produce a pregnancy, but added to existing problems to fully block the tubes. And to make matters worse, they shared there is no procedure available to clear the tubes. The very medicine that was supposed to finally bring them a child had, in fact, stolen their last hope of conceiving a baby naturally. The financial and emotional tolls of this ordeal have been and continue to be a very heavy cross to bear. And now, only one hope remains for Kate and Marc to achieve their dreams of having a baby and starting their family, IVF.
IVF places a $20,000 price tag on their dream of starting a family of their own. Kate and Marc are hardworking, loyal, loving, and generous people who have given so much in their efforts to have a baby.
