IVF - because giving up is not an option

Demi and Anthony’s story…..

I want to start by telling you a story, one of two people, deeply in love and wanting more than anything to bring a life into this world.  It is a story we have all heard before, one that I never thought would affect my daughter and our family……infertility.

Demi is my oldest daughter, a dedicated and tireless teacher to her 6th grade students. From the time she was young, she wanted to be a teacher, marry the love of her life and have a family.  Anthony is that love, her husband.  He is one of the sweetest most caring men I have known. He is funny, loving, so good to me and our family, hard-working and so very dedicated to my daughter.  They met in high school and worked together to build their life and do it in the order they thought was best, marriage, house then have children. Something we all assume is so easy, I mean people have babies every day.

Things have been a struggle for these two cute kids for a while.  Demi finished her master’s degree in August of 2017,  which she is still working to pay off.  They started trying to have a child after she completed her degree in September. Then on January 21, 2018 she had a seizure, which resulted in an ambulance ride to the emergency room.  We later found out it was a Grand Mal Seizure.  She had to have a brain scan and study which resulted in a seizure disorder diagnosis on March 20, 2018. She is on medication now and is doing well, just another thing that came up that they had to add to their budget to pay off.

They have been struggling with infertility since 2017 and have tried alternative methods, including surgery.  On March 15, 2019 they were told their only option would be IVF. This will improve their chances from  1% to 50%.   I won’t get into details, this is their personal battle, one that they are dealing with together.  This  has affected them deeply, such an emotional roller coaster, one minute you have hope, the next it is taken away.  The heart-break that I have witnessed makes my heart and soul ache for them.  I want to help them, make this better, take all the pain away and give them HOPE.  Which is why I need your help as soon as possible!

The only option they have is IVF.  The amount we are trying to raise is for the guaranteed cycle so that if IVF doesn't work, they can use the money towards adoption.  They desperately want a family and feel like this is the correct path for them. I know this process might not be something you agree with, I am not asking you too.  I would ask that you look inside and ask yourself if you had an issue, a medical problem that you could overcome if you just had enough money?  If you could make your dreams come true, dreams that seem impossible,  a reality,  wouldn't you want to try?

As a mother, a parent, I want to put my arms around them and tell them it will be ok.  Please help me raise the money they need to start the process of tests, doctor visits, hormone injections and all the difficult steps they will have to take to become parents. They want to create a precious little life. Please help us.

Whoever said “Money can’t buy happiness” has never had to pay for IVF.

Let’s do this! Their goal is to begin treatment in July.
