My name is Shelbie, my horse is Sparkie and he is an incredibly special guy. I have had him since he was 3 1/2 years old (he will be 21 this month), anyways he has been being treated at Tufts for a mass in his sinus. Originally we treated his ethmoid hematoma (mass #1) and it responded well...he then needed a CT scan as there were signs of another mass in a different sinus. Unfortunately that showed a different and very large mass in his caudal maxillary sinus and sphenopalatine (a small sinus right under the brain), there is no good way to surgically remove this whole mass. I have pretty much consulted experts from here in MA all the way to Texas and the outcome is the same...no good way to remove it. Sadly, now I have to accept my time with him is limited. He is very happy and healthy and comfortable at this time, thankfully. I have spent everything I had and I owe still. I am negative on all of my credit cards, I still owe Tufts, I owe for the TX consult, I owe my regular vet who needs payment before she can come vaccinate my horses this week (I have Spark and his brother). I am so devastated and being so in debt only makes me more sad. I never ask for help, I try really hard to do it all myself but this time I am stuck in a hole and I just cannot dig my way out. I work a full time job and on my days off I work at the farm. Please help me to pay some of these vet bills down and some of my debts so I have one less thing to worry about and can spend the time I have left with Sparkie doting on him and making the best out of this devastating situation.
