Luckily earlier in the year ( almost 4 months ago we were blessed to release $40000 of super that paid for 14 weeks infusions and stabilised my weight! Obviously once I'm not able to afford as many the decline will begin as the cachexia has no mercy! I was only 34 kilos in February! Hopefully a miracle is coming that will buy me more time and the opportunity of making more memories with my family! I pray what youve given will come back to you tenfold! My name is Lisa and I'm being held hostage by the pharmaceutical companies

I beat three bowel cancers and secondary breast Cancer. I've been so blessed but unfortunately in the last five years I've developed 7 different autoimmune diseases I have mixed connective tissue disease osteoporosis rheumatoid arthritis sjogrens disease temporal artery symposium raynauds syndrome but the 7th one has unfortunately now given me a death sentence that I can't fight! Cachexia isn't curable and basically my body is starving itself to death. In the matter of three months once my body began completely rejecting any food I was down to 34 kilos. The only thing we had to try was upping my compounding infusions ( they bypass food and put the pure nutrients vitamins and minerals straight into the blood stream. Unfortunately the pharmaceutical companies don't like these so they're fighting them being allowed on the pbs system. I've been on them for ten years as an addition to food as with only 3 feet of bowel left from 32 feet I was having 2 a month plus the cocktails etc and we've sold our house business belongings etc etc just funding that. We've no assets at all and I've no super either plus hubby got money out of his so that ship has sailed . It's $40,000 for three months infusions and that's what's gotten me to here instead of being gone by Easter which was the expectation! I'm still only up to 36 kilos and once we try to stretch the treatment though it starts to drop again and obviously I've zero immunity.

My youngest daughter ( a miracle they discovered that I was 4 months pregnant when I was six months into chemo and they wanted me to abort! That was 21 years ago and I got to see her celebrate it in July! I haven't drank in the last four years as I'm on morphine permanently along with others I am in pain 24/7 so why would I add in more pain.

My daughter will graduate as a nurse in march and this is why I've finally agreed to be vulnerable and ask for help. I know this is it as I can feel the difference in my body compared to other times I wasn't expected to make it but I could still fight!!

I have been blessed to have my arrangements all done and I'm at peace with it but she's my miracle baby girl who was sent back then to make me fight! I am sad that she has only ever known me ill but a childhood spent in hospitals with me has brought her into nursing and she's put herself through university working 3 jobs!

Any amount you can possibly manage helps there's no amount too small

There's no guarantees obviously but 40 grand is three months flat out infusions and hopefully put the handbrake on the weight loss as because I'm still so underweight it's unbelievable the speed it drops! I had my last infusion a week ago and there's nothing left anywhere for anymore.
