I’ve recently been accepted for stem cell therapy at a specialist clinic in Ulm, Germany, and this is the most promising opportunity I have had since my spinal cord injury.
This treatment has the potential to make a significant difference in my recovery and could help me regain more movement, function, and independence.
On July 9th, 2025, my life changed in an instant when I was the passenger in a car being driven by my ex-partner. The accident left me with an incomplete C5 spinal cord injury, and in the days that followed, I nearly lost my life. I now am paralysed from the chest down and in both times, which means I need 24/7 care.. my life has been completely taken from me.
I spent seven months in hospital undergoing surgeries, treatment, and intensive rehabilitation. Since then, I have worked every day to regain as much function as possible.
Because my injury is incomplete, there is still real potential for further recovery. I have significant sensation below my injury level, movement in my wrists, and slight movement in my toes, all of which are encouraging signs.
I have also just completed a clinical trial as part of my rehabilitation journey. Taking part in this trial was a huge milestone for me and reinforced how much progress is still possible. It gave me even more determination to pursue every legitimate treatment that could improve my recovery.
Being accepted for stem cell therapy feels like the next major step. For the first time since my injury, I feel that I have a genuine opportunity to access a treatment that could meaningfully improve my life.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported me already.
Thanks to previous donations, I have been able to purchase an adapted vehicle and specialist equipment that have made a huge difference to my rehabilitation and daily independence.
I am incredibly grateful for the support I have received.
I am aiming to raise €90,000 to cover the cost of stem cell therapy in Germany, along with travel, accommodation, and intensive rehabilitation.
Accessing this treatment as soon as possible will give me the best possible chance of continuing to make progress and regain more movement and independence.
The funds raised will go towards:
* Stem cell therapy treatment
* Travel to and from Germany
* Accommodation during treatment
* Intensive physiotherapy and rehabilitation
* Follow-up care and recovery support
Any donation, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to accessing this potentially life-changing treatment.
If you are unable to donate, sharing my fundraiser with others would mean just as much.
I will be sharing my clinic acceptance letter, photos from my rehabilitation, and regular updates so everyone can follow my progress.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping me pursue this incredible opportunity.
