My name is Lisa, and I’m asking for help to save my best friend, my soul mate—my little dog, Gus.
Gus is only 4 years old. He should be in the prime of his life—running, playing, being his happy, cheeky self. Instead, he’s facing Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), a painful and frightening condition that has turned our world upside down.
Gus isn’t just a pet. He is my heart outside my body. He has been by my side through everything, always knowing how to comfort me in ways no one else can. I truly believe he was sent to me from heaven. He has that kind of soul—pure, gentle, and full of unconditional love.
Watching him struggle is unbearable. Seeing him in pain, hesitant to move, unable to do the things he loves—it breaks me.
What makes this even harder is that Gus was insured. But when his policy renewed, he became unwell before the new coverage officially began. Because of that timing, he is now permanently excluded from any insurance claims related to IVDD. That means every cost—from surgery to rehabilitation—is entirely out of pocket.
We are now facing overwhelming expenses, including:
IVDD surgery (which could give him the chance to walk and run again)
Red light therapy
Hydrotherapy
Ongoing vet bills, medication, and recovery care
I am willing to do absolutely anything for him—but I can’t do this alone.
Gus deserves a full life. He deserves to run freely again, to feel the grass under his paws, to play without pain, to simply be a dog. He has given me nothing but love his entire life—now he needs help to keep living it.
If you can donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to us. And if you can’t, even sharing this would help more than you know.
From the bottom of my heart—thank you for taking the time to read Gus’s story, and for giving him a chance.
With love, Lisa & Gus
