The time has come for us to reach out to our village. All of Ivans life has been a fight to meet the numerous needs for him (my 17yr old medical mystery man). Ivan was diagnosed at just 10months old with a rare chromosomal microdeletion that has affected his body in multiple ways. He is dependent on us for all his care. Raising someone with such complex medical needs limits my ability to work full time. Therefore I am reaching out to our community. The biggest need Ivan has as he approaches 18 is an easier form of transportation. Our current van does have a seat that comes out for Ivan but that still involves lifting (usually takes 2 people if Im lucky) a 120lb teenager 6 times between bed, car and wheelchair for each appointment. It would be ideal to have a modified vehicle with wheelchair entry for his comfort and safety. This is very much needed to improve Ivan's quality of life to reduce those lifts to 2 for each time he goes out. It will lessen the risk of hurting him and us. It would also keep him secure in his wheelchair during transit. This will be an ongoing fundraiser as I do not expect to raise everything needed in a short amount of time. It is a goal to work towards.
