Ivan's Transport
Donation protected
I'm Markus, I have been volunteering in Poland supporting the humanitarian effort for Ukraine. I met Ivan at SOS UA, an organization that coordinates transportation of donations from all over Europe to the people in Ukraine that need it the most. I met Ivan my first day and was told about his many responsibilities, but I didn't understand the extent of his help until I needed him myself.
Ivan is one of the strongest, most selfless, caring, people I've had the pleasure of meeting. He is a veteran of the Ukrainian Army and was also a military instructor training soldiers in territorial defense. He was injured while defending his homeland, but he has passed on his knowledge to many of the soldiers defending his homeland during the current Russian invasion. He was commended and awarded for his ability to teach and still remains in contact with his students. He has showed me how they thank him for the techniques they learned and the many times the knowledge has saved their lives.
Even though I am here volunteering for the humanitarian effort, Ivan has looked out for me as if I was one of his students. He has treated me like family and made sure I am well taken care of. He's cooked for me, washed my clothes, and made sure I have everything I need. He's scolded me when I stay up too late or skipped meals, just like a big brother. When I got sick, he made me tea, gave me cold medicine, and insisted I take a break for a couple days so I could get better (even though I refused). He has done everything to make me feel welcome and loved while I am so far from home, and never asks for anything himself.
This is why I wanted to create a fundraiser for Ivan. He plans to buy a van so he and some of his army buddies can travel to the most damaged places in Ukraine and help people escape the horrors of this war. He wants to get his family, friends, and as many people as he can to safety. He showed me vehicles for sale costing around $10,000 to $12,000. Any other funds would go to transportation costs, fuel, and vehicle maintenance. He also needs military and first aid equipment to keep himself, his friends, and his passengers safe. He has the training and knowledge to make this mission possible. All he needs are the funds.
Please help me support my brother!
