Ivan Salas is at Huntington Hospital as a patient where he has been for over a month. 
Just a couple days ago was the first time I got to see him in over 30 days. In the end of March he and myself (his fiance Jasmin) got tested for covid 19 after both experiencing symptoms. We both tested positive. Over the next few days I got better and Ivan got worse. Ivan was finally admitted to the hospital on April 2nd and immediately put in the covid unit, then after the virus started taking a major effect on his lungs, ICU overload. He was eventually intubated and put under an induced coma. Making little progress doctors decided he needed a tracheostomy and after that procedure he was connected to a ventilator on life support. This whole journey has not been easy. We both made the mistake of not planning for an emergency like this. We are behind on April and May's rent and car payment. Ivan's car insurance policy has already been canceled the internet was shut off a couple days ago (which is essential with my son & I both enrolled in online school). I waited so long to ask for help because I stayed positive and kept my faith knowing Ivan would be home soon and everything would be fine. I wasn't all wrong, a few days ago he was taken off the ventilator and is now this moment breathing all on his own thank God.
However as big of a step this is...there is still a long recovery ahead. Ivan's disability insurance is still pending and I was told will take double time due to overwhelming amount of applications and although I have already begun the process of getting a part time job while in school, I'm not getting paid tomorrow...Until all this dust settles I'm asking you to please help our family through this hardship and take some of this burden of financial obligations off of Ivan's shoulders so he can focus on recovering.
I know that we are not the only family affected by this unpredictable virus and that times are hard for alot of us, so understand that even just a single dollar helps tremendously and will be put to good use. Thank you for taking the time to read our story. God bless you all.
