Hello, my name is Ivan Martinez, and I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read my story. As many of you may know, I have been waiting for a kidney transplant which seemed like an eternity. After 9 long years the wait is finally over. On 09/14/2023 I received an unexpected call from the kidney transplantation team at Sharp Memorial San Diego telling me that there was a possible match for me which lead to a successful kidney transplant surgery.

Although I am truly grateful for this life changing miracle, the road to recovery is far from near. My wife and I now find ourselves in a financial hardship due to loss of work, extended recovery time, and the expenses that follow; post-transplant medical care needs, travel costs, and temporary lodging, etc…

I would greatly appreciate any support from family and friends during this time of need. Any help contributing to my financial situation will allow me and my wife to focus on this lengthy journey to recovery.
