Hi my name is Anabel and Ivan is my brother-in-law.

Ivan is such a loved dad, husband, son, brother-in-law, and friend. He was having a regular Friday night on 2/16/24 and decided to go play indoor soccer like he did every other Friday. Unfortunately, just 6 minutes into the game. His heart completely stopped and he went into full cardiac arrest. Two very amazing men who were present were able to take immediate action and start CPR which saved his life. When paramedics arrived, he still wasn’t breathing. Paramedics struggled to get him to come back around, but he’s a fighter and he came back around. He arrived at the hospital and they ran tests and found that he had 3 major blockages in his arteries of his heart which is what caused his heart attack. He was life flighted to Portland to receive bypass surgery. He is currently under sedation awaiting surgery on 2/18/24. Bypass surgery is a big procedure and he will likely be in the hospital 5-6 days recovering and then he will be recovering at home for about 3 weeks. This will obviously be a big financial hit on his family as his wife will also need to take time off to be with him. She will also be driving back and forth from Portland since they have a 4 year old who needs her and isn’t allowed at the hospital ICU. We are asking for some support for this amazing family. Anyone who knows them knows how special and amazing they are. Nothing can take away the worry and mental burden they are currently experiencing, but the financial help is something that we can help with.
