Update from Charlene on behalf of Mat- “Update on Mat at his Request

Many of you have been following Mats updates, as you know, he has been very sick and in and out of the hospital for the last couple of months. Sadly, a week ago, we received his heartbreaking diagnosis. Mat has stage 4 stomach cancer. With his unwavering faith and the positive attitude we all know he has, we are going to fight harder than we ever that we could. Mat started his first of 8 chemo treatments last Friday afternoon. Each chemotherapy treatment lasts 2 1/2 days.

Please include him and our wonderful children, Gracelynn, Anthony, and Nicholas, in your prayers. Our family is so blessed to have your prayers, love, and support. Your continued prayers are the best gift. Blessings to each and every one of you ”

Hi, my name is Monica Bolen and I am trying to raise a relief fund for my dear friend Charlene’s family. Her husband Mat has been very ill and in and out of the hospital over the last few months. You may recognize his friendly face as our Foresthill Cub Scout Leader, cheering on his sons and daughter during one of their games, or passing by at one of our local businesses. He is still currently in the hospital undergoing many tests and procedures to get them the answers that they need to move forward. Along with the stress, worry, and concern over Mat’s health, there has been a financial strain as he is the sole provider for their family. I would love for her to be able to just focus on him and their kids without having to worry about the regular monthly expenses, and the unexpected ones that have come up, recent car repairs, a need for new tires, and their 4 wheel drive needing repair before Winter hits us so they can make it to doctor appointments. When Mat is able to come home, he will need a lot of recovery time and not to worry about the things he isn’t able to get done. After meeting with her today, I asked if it would be ok if I reach out to the community for help. This family is so deserving of any help they can get.
