Help Me Chase My Dream of Playing Division 1 Tennis
Hi, my name is Ivanna Canesa, and tennis has been my passion for the past six years.
I first started playing at 10 years old while living in Indonesia, and during COVID I spent nearly every day on the court with friends and family. That’s when I realized tennis was more than a hobby — it was something I wanted to pursue seriously.
In 2021, my family moved to the United States when I was 12. Just one month after arriving, I competed in the prestigious Orange Bowl junior tournament in Florida. Even though I lost in the first round, it showed me the level I needed to reach and motivated me to work harder.
Unfortunately, soon after moving, my family began facing financial challenges. Tennis development is extremely expensive, and I had to stop competing in tournaments and reduce my training because we couldn’t afford the coaching, travel, and tournament fees.
In late 2022, I met Coach Jeff, who began training with me 3-4 days a week for 8 months and helped me grow tremendously as a player. With his guidance, I reached the State Finals as a freshman and won a local tournament in Washington, DC that allowed me to attend the Rafa Nadal Traveling Tennis Academy in DC for one week, where I was recognized as one of the top players.
But due to family financial challenges I was no longer able to get consistent coaching and tournament play and my progress slowed again. Recently, Coach Jeff began training me once more because he didn't want my talent to go to waist. He has put me on a high-performance schedule to help me reach my full potential.
My dream is to earn a Division 1 college tennis scholarship and one day compete on the WTA Professional Tour.
However, reaching that level requires consistent coaching, equipment, and competing in national tournaments — expenses that my family cannot cover.
That’s why I’m asking for help.
Your support will help pay for:
• Coaching and training
• Tournament entry fees
• Travel and hotel costs
• Equipment and gear
Every donation, no matter the amount, helps me continue chasing my dream.
Thank you so much for believing in my journey.
