In Memory of Pastor Ivan Cornwell

Pastor Ivan Cornwell dedicated his life to the education and discipleship of students since 1981 in Mayville, WI. It is at his request that we, his family, have set up this fund, in lieu of flowers, to honor and commemorate his life and ministry. Pastor Ivan served at Calvary Temple Christian Academy (Philadelphia, PA), Calvary Academy (Lakewood, NJ) and most recently founded Trail Life USA Troop PA-2611 (Hanover, PA). It is his hope that these ministries will continue to advance the Kingdom of God by discipling the current generation and generations to come.
Calvary Temple was his first place of ministry after college where he began as worship/youth pastor and music teacher. It was there that his mentor and pastor, Rev. Ed Menaldino saw his love for children and education and believed he should be the school administrator of Calvary Temple Christian Academy. Over the course of thirteen years Pastor Ivan taught music, bible, history, science and adult Sunday school, preached for student chapels and adult services, and served the great people of South Philadelphia.
Calvary Academy became his place of ministry for the following five years where he was Headmaster and staff pastor at Calvary Lighthouse. During his time there, he actively taught bible, math, choir and even coached softball for a couple years. He again taught Sunday school and loved to preach during student chapels and adult services.
After years of leading Christian schools, Pastor Ivan transitioned to ministry as an elder of Captivate Community Church. Seeing the need for a great boys discipleship program, Ivan and Lisa partnered with Trail Life USA, in its beginning stages, to found Troop PA-2611. Trail Life USA’s mission is “to guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience the outdoor adventure.” What a fitting ministry for him!
Pastor Ivan has indeed left his mark through his 36 years of ministry. We appreciate your contribution to the honoring of his life and ministry.
