On July 29th my nephew Ivan Vazquez suffered a heart attack and unfortunately, was unconscious for a long period of time before paramedics could reach him. He suffered severe brain damage due to the lack of oxygen. He is in the ICU waiting for the life-sharing process to begin as his wish was to be an organ donor.
Ivan was only 31 years old, he was born at Scripps hospital in Chula Vista on March 20th, 1992, he shared a birthday with his mom. Ivan went to Lauderbach and Montgomery Elementary, Castle Park Middle School, Castle Park High School, San Diego City College and finally graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's in Accounting. Once an Aztec, always an Aztec!
Ivan was a dedicated vocational teacher and was in the process of starting a Bookeeping and Tax preparation business with his uncle. He was planning great things for his future.
Ivan was the oldest of 4 siblings, he leaves behind his mother Rosalinda, his brothers Moises and Yael and his youngest sister Andrea.
He was an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a happy kid from the beginning and always had a great smile. He loved to play soccer and he loved to watch soccer games with his friends and family. He was an avid fan of Chivas and Barcelona, and he could talk about soccer for hours. He played on a league every Sunday at the Montgomery-Waller park.
He was a caring, selfless man, and was always ready to help, which is reflected by his decision to give the gift of life to others. In this time of need, we ask for any help you can provide for the medical and funeral expenses. We want to be able to give him the celebration of life he deserves. Anything helps.
Thank you for your prayers and for your help. Our family is truly grateful.
