On Monday June 16th Ivan Gotera was taken to the baptist emergency room for vomiting and walking off balance. There they sedated him for a head CT, where they found a large mass in the back right of his brain next to his spinal cord. He was rushed by ambulance to the pediatric neurology intensive care unit at Le Bonheur, there he under went a 4 hour brain and spinal cord MRI. The neuro team came into today and let them know it is a cancer known as Medulloblastoma. It’s very common in childhood cancer with a high survival rate. 
Surgery will be tomorrow Wednesday June 19th, the surgery will be 8 hours long. Then Ivan will rest and recover and be transferred to St. Jude where he will start chemo and radiation. These donations are to help with Ashley Creecy and John Gotera’s bills as they will be out of work indefinitely and a start to helping with any hospital bills at Le Bonheur.
