Itzia’s Health Journey

Dear Friends and Family,

Something we did not anticipate happened, Itzia was just diagnosed with uveal melanoma. The doctor was skeptical at the beginning since she did not fit the description for this disease but sadly the biopsy confirmed it. Itzia has been seeing a light on her right eye for the past year and we’ve been going from doctor to doctor but they did not know what her condition was. After previous doctors were scared to do a biopsy, due to the risk of Itzia losing her vision, we were able to find an ocular oncologist late last year that was confident to the procedure. She confirmed this week that her tumor is cancerous and will be starting her radiation treatment this month. She will require surgery to place the plaque needed for the treatment but she will need to be isolated since she will be conspired radioactive. A second surgery will be done to remove the plaque. Since the procedure will be done in another city we will have to find a place where she can be isolated and comfortable for more than a week. We will be using these funds to cover the housing, food, traveling expenses and whatever her insurance doesn’t cover. Whatever funds that will not be used will be donated to patients that also suffer from cancer.

hola amigos !!! por medio de esta página les hacemos saber que nuestra hija Itzia , después de tantos estudios y ver a muchos doctores en Austin, San Antonio y Houston . La oncóloga nos sugirió que para saber con seguridad a que nos estamos enfrentando hacerle la biopsia. Nos dio la noticia que tenía un melanoma y que tenemos que actuar rápido por que podría complicarse. Ahora su tratamiento es ponerle una placa con radiaciones por una semana y va a estar aislada en estos días !!!! Estamos recaudando fondos para gastos gracias y Dios los Bendiga
