Help Bob Villacci during his cancer treatment

******* Update!!!! *******
Hi Everyone! Bob said it is ok for me to post an update!
Bob just had his second repeat PET scan and follow up with his cancer doctor. There was previously concern that it had spread to 3 organs (spots seen on PET scan) but it was determined that these spots are not cancer! Awesome news!
The lung tumor had originally responded to chemo but it has mutated and the chemo is no longer helping. It hasn’t grown larger then when he started, which is great. There is a new chemo specific for the mutation he has, so he will begin that in 3 weeks as long as the insurance will cover it. (It’s not FDA approved yet so this can be an issue, but apparently there are funds that cover these scenarios.) His doc is also adjusting the immunotherapy dosing.
Bob is trying to book an appt with Dana Farber in Boston to see if there are other treatment options to explore.
Bob is a tough cookie and continues to work and recovers on the weekend after his chemo.
I asked him what people can do to help right now and he said he is all set for now. “I’m self sufficient right now”
He wanted me to thank everyone for their continued well wishes, visits at the garage, phone calls, FB messages and texts! He continues to be regular old Bob with a positive and laid back attitude!
He does find massage helps him a lot - he has been going monthly.
Chris

Hi! I'm raising money for my brother-in-law, Bob Villacci, who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer due to an unknown cause.
Most of us who know Bob have been helped by him in some way over the years. He is an old-school mechanic who usually undercharges his friends and family and always provides honest and extremely fair pricing to all of his customers. He is the BBQ master at all get-togethers and always has a smile on his face.
Being self-employed, Bob only gets paid when he works. This fundraiser is to help Bob with expenses when he misses work due to treatments. Bob plans to work when he can - he has never been out of work in over 45 years!
Bob was scheduled for surgery on October 9th, but the surgeon felt surgery was not the best option at this time. With a positive attitude, Bob is moving on to plan B and will undergo chemo, possibly with immunotherapy/radiation/surgery to follow.
It's time to give back to Bob, who is loved by all and is a real giver!
Thank you all!!
