Hey Friends - my name is Alexis (Lindsey's longest standing best friend :) ). Lindsey and I have been friends since our first mission trip to Mexico (too many years ago to count)!

As many of you know, Linds has been fighting breast cancer for 12 years.

Lindsey has undergone more treatments and procedures than anyone should have to go through; however, if you know Linds, you know that she has gone through each step with such grace, strength, and a desire to make Jesus known to all she comes in contact with while battling this terrible disease. She has also continued to serve faithfully in many, many areas of her church and shows up each and every day to teach her sweet students and instill a love of learning in each of them.

Back in February, a follow-up appointment showed that the last round of chemo did not work as well as her medical team had hoped. In May, she began a clinical trial, which was successful for the spots in her chest; however, the cancer has spread to her liver, and now Lindsey has started radiation to attack the cancer in her liver.

From the very beginning, this journey has reminded me of the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel - when they refused to bow down to King Nebuchadnezzar's idol. They told him their God could deliver them from the fiery furnace, "but even it He does not, " they still wouldn't bow. Man, that's a story that has carried me through these hard seasons. Even if... even if I don't see a physical healing, I will continue to serve Him - because He is worth it!
