Help Katie Beat Ovarian Cancer!

Donation protected
Katie Clemmer, lovingly known as Katie ‘On the Spot’, has always been the kind of person who’s there for anyone in need—friend, neighbor, or even a stranger. Whenever someone needed help, Katie is ready, without hesitation, to step in and make a difference. But now, Katie is the one who needs support, and it’s our turn to be ‘on the spot’ for her.

Just a few days before Thanksgiving 2024, Katie faced a life-altering moment. She went to the emergency room and masses were discovered in her abdomen. Shortly after, surgery was performed to remove masses, and it was determined Katie has Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer. After an already grueling surgery, Katie now faces months of additional treatments, chemotherapy, and more surgeries as she overcomes this disease. Katie needs our help now more than ever.

If you know Katie, you know she’s not one to ask for help. She’s fiercely self-reliant and independent. Katie is known professionally as a helper, working over a decade in her community assisting women and children access care and nutrition. Among her friends, Katie is reliable, always accessible, ready to laugh and help, with whatever task or need may arise. But the truth is, this journey will come with significant challenges—emotionally, physically, and financially. Katie will be out of work for the foreseeable future, and while she has a strong support system of family and friends, the financial burden is more than anyone should bear alone.

Katie lives in Asheville, NC, a community still recovering from the hardships of a devastating storm. Life in Asheville remains challenging, the community continues to face difficult conditions. Katie’s husband, Greg, was also affected; his work place was flooded and recovery is uncertain in its progression. A reality that is abundant in the community. The focus needs to be on Katie’s healing—not on worrying about heating her home, accessing healthy food, or covering everyday expenses like gas, insurance, and mounting medical bills.

Katie has shown immense strength, and her family and friends are rallying around her. But additional financial support is critical to ensure she has everything she needs during this long road to recovery. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.

Please consider donating to help Katie and her family through this challenging time. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help provide the stability and peace of mind they need to focus on Katie’s healing. Let’s come together to support someone who has always been there for others. Let’s be ‘on the spot’ for Katie when she needs it most.
