Hi my name is Sylvia. Many of you reading this will know my story, for those who don’t he is a recap.
I have incurable Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that has spread to my bones and lungs. For the moment the cancer is stable. I was diagnosed and hospitalized at the same time my husband was in final stages of a terminal illness. I was able to get out of the hospital and care for him in the final 2 months of his life.
Since then I had to move from our lake home up north to an apartment in Pointe Claire. I also had to rehome my dogs as I was unable to care for them.
i live on my disability so a very fixed income. I use my sewing and embroidery to give me a passion in life and keep me occupied and feeling productive.
since moving here I was able to adopt 2 cats that are the joys of my day. Both come from CASCA Hudson. In the case when something happens to me, both Lennox and Lily will be going to live with my sister. I made sure they were looked after before adopting them! They are the lives of my life and the highlight of mybdays
Here’s the issue.
Lennox, the bed head, came to CASCA from a terrible breeder. He now needs surgery on both his ears. The way he was bred causes his ear canals to be too small to clear any debris on their own. So he suffers from chronic ear infections. There is a surgery that will open the ear canals to alleviate this problem. In one month alone I spent over 800$ In vet bills. Now a month later his ears are bothering him again. I keep them as clean as I can but the only permanent solution is surgery. On my limited budget I cannot afford that.
here is the pours part, both my embroidery machines have broken at the same time. This just before the Christmas rush. I count on the little bit of $ I make on my work to offset my costs and allow me to pursue my passion.
at every other time in my life I was simply able to work more and harder to do what needed to get done. Unfortunately I’m no longer in a position do do that. That’s why I’m reaching out to you today to see if I can get some support.
i always pay it forward. Every year with community support I organize food and gift baskets for two families. I will be doing the same this year. If there even is a spare penny from this fundraiser it will go towards those two families.
if you cannot donate, I would kindly ask that you share with your contacts to help me reach this goal. Lennox will be eternally grateful
